Live Report: Anisong World Matsuri at Anime Expo 2017 ~Japan Super Live~

The first day of this July marks not only the beginning of the biggest North American anime convention, Anime Expo 2017, but also the second night for the much-anticipated carnival of Anisong — “Anisong World Matsuri at Anime Expo 2017 ~Japan Super Live~”. Most sought-after anisong musicians from Japan drew a packed house at Microsoft Theater that night and showcased the influential culture of Anisong and Anime with their respective stage in front of more than 6000 excited audience. Both new stars and veteran artists joined the lineup to complete a well-rounded set list, where the latest hot anisong releases intermixed with the refreshing ways they interpreted old songs that every fan would find familiar with.  Keep Reading

J-pop Diva Utada Hikaru To Release Two New Digital Singles From Epic Records Japan, A Sony Music Label

Japanese singer-songwriter, Utada Hikaru will release her first single, “Oozora de Dakishimete” from Epic Records Japan, a division of Sony Music Entertainment Japan, on Monday, July 10th 2017. Her second single, “Forevermore” will follow its release on Friday, July 20th 2017. Her last record with Universal, Fantome, sold approx. 1.05 million copies worldwide (#23 on IFPI’s top selling albums chart from Global Music Report). Keep Reading

FLOW and Minori Chihara Join for Bandai Namco Shanghai “Anisong Party”

Anisong heavyweights FLOW and Minori Chihara performed a special collaboration concert in Shanghai, China, on June 9, delivering a 2-hour-plus set of anime song favorites, including a surprise cover version of Hironobu Kageyama (JAM Project)’s Dragon Ball Z theme “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA”. For the show’s encore, Minori Chihara joined FLOW onstage to sing along with the group’s hit song “DAYS” from the anime Eureka Seven.

BugLug Vocalist Issei Returns To Stage With Grand Live Show at Nippon Budokan, BugLug Announces 47-Prefecture Tour in Japan

Vocalist of BugLug, Issei, announced his much-anticipated full comeback to the stage, having suffered severe head injury after an accident on May 7th 2016.
