Aniplex of America Announces Blu-ray and DVD Releases of Multiple Beloved Anime and Film Titles


Aniplex of America announced at their industry panel at Otakon (Washington, D.C.) that the company will be releasing Blu-ray and DVD versions of multiple highly popular anime and film titles including Sword Art Online the Movie –Ordinal Scale-, KOYOMIMONOGATARI, KIZUMONOGATARI PART 3: REIKETSU and anohana – The Flower We Saw That Day –. Pre-orders for these products already started on August 11 and they will be available in store in the upcoming months. 1. Blu-ray and DVD Release of Sword Art Online the Movie –Ordinal Scale- 

Sword Art Online the Movie –Ordinal Scale- is coming to Blu-ray and DVD for the first time, along with a Limited Edition release. These releases had been highly anticipated after the movie’s record-breaking success during the theatrical release, grossing 1.35 million dollars during the first four days of the North American release. Pre-orders for all three of the Blu-ray and DVD editions has begun on August 11th.

The Blu-ray releases will come with bonus contents that include audio commentary by the creators and Japanese cast, as well as a Special Short Animation. On top of the bonus contents, the Limited Edition Blu-ray includes a music CD and a deluxe booklet with special packaging.

After a successful streaming run in Japan back in January of this year, the series will be available on Blu-ray in full quality starting this holiday season. Featuring the talented cast that fans will recognize from the prior installments of the Monogatari Series,  KOYOMIMONOGATARI includes Hiroshi Kamiya as Koyomi Araragi (Monogatari Series, Blue Exorcist -Kyoto Saga-), Maaya Sakamoto (the Garden of sinners) as Shinobu Oshino, and Chiwa Saito (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) as Hitagi Senjyogahara.

The feature movie received a nationwide theatrical release earlier this year, and now fans of the gruesome trilogy can complete their collection with all 3 movies on Blu-ray before the holiday season.

The Blu-ray release of KIZUMONOGATARI PART 3: REIKETSU will include the original Japanese cast, which features Hiroshi Kamiya (Durarara!!x2, Blue Exorcist -Kyoto Saga-) as Koyomi Araragi, Yui Horie (Nisekoi, Owarimonogatari) as Tsubasa Hanekawa, and accomplished musical artist Maaya Sakamoto (the Garden of sinners, God Eater) as the vampire Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade. This highly anticipated film has brought together an all-star creative team including Director Tatsuya Oishi (Series Director of BAKEMONOGATARI), Character Designer Akio Watanabe (MonogatariSeries), Chief Director Akiyuki Shimbou (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Monogatari Series, NISEKOI) and Studio SHAFT (Madoka Magica, Monogatari Series, NISEKOI).

4. A complete Blu-ray Box Set of the beloved TV series anohana – The Flower We Saw That Day .
